Phulkari embroidery, 'flower work' stitched by hand into cotton, stands as Punjab's single most recognized textile craft.
राज्य अनुसार कला · State-wise Art
Traditionally embroidered as part of a bride's trousseau, phulkari remains Punjab's defining textile art, worked in dense floss-silk stitching from the reverse side of hand-spun cotton cloth.
The turban, already covered in this site's Jeevan Shaili chapter, and Punjab's own strong tradition of folk performance run alongside phulkari as the state's most visible everyday craft and custom, though dance and music remain a chapter still to come on this site.
