Craft & Origins

Traditionally painted directly onto temple and palace walls using a restricted palette of five natural colors, red, yellow, green, black, and white, sourced from local minerals and plant matter, Kerala mural painting depicts deities and epic scenes in a distinct style with characteristically calm, rounded facial features.
